ClassTag Expands Platform Capabilities to Offer Virtual Parent Teacher Conferences

ClassTag Is A Google For Education Partner

NEW YORK, NY (July 2020) – ClassTag, a parent-teacher communication platform, will now be one of the first EdTech platforms to offer on-demand virtual parent-teacher conferencing as schools around the country prepare for hybrid learning scenarios come Fall. The announcement comes as ClassTag integrates Google for Education’s services to their platform, allowing teachers and parents to sync up with widely-used G Suite tools to conduct virtual meetings and events and securely share important information.

New features come as schools announce hybrid learning scenarios for the upcoming year

“Our main function at ClassTag is to give parents and teachers a platform to successfully connect,” said Vlada Lotkina, CEO and Co-Founder of ClassTag. “By becoming a Google for Education partner, we’re able to help our users create, collaborate, and build digital skills for the future. The new capabilities, specifically virtual parent-teacher conferences, will be game-changing for parents and teachers alike to remain connected, even when they can’t physically interface.”

In addition to the Google Meet, virtual conferences feature, teachers and administrators will now be able to directly integrate with their Google Drive account to easily share documents, photos, and presentations with parents, sync events to their Google Calendar as well as upload videos directly from YouTube. ClassTag users will also be able to access a feature called “Student Backpacks” which enables teachers to safely transport and store status reports and other important information on each individual student.

School functions and parent-teacher conferences will now be more streamlined with ClassTag’s scheduler which syncs directly with Google Calendar. A Google Meet link will be automatically generated for all of the events and meetings scheduled on ClassTag, supporting remote instruction during back to school when parents are not allowed in the school buildings in many states.

Lotkina continued, “With Google Calendar and Google Meet being so widely used by both teachers and parents, our hope is that setting up online events – whether it be one-on-one conferences, or arranging school-wide assemblies – will make interactions easier than ever before as schools come back in session.”

Additional new features include a single sign-on with Google on ClassTag and an opportunity to link to Google Classroom as a “quick link” inside ClassTag for easy access. ClassTag also helps teachers and administrators contact English as a second language (ESL) parents, enabling automatic translation into over 60 languages according to parent preference with Google Translate.

ClassTag is currently used by over two million parents and teachers across 25,000 schools around the country.
